”1” Originally,the ”enlightenment” was to enlighten people by teaching them how to read and reason.In ancient China,from their childhood,peoplehad to receive meng xue or private rudimentary education before they could become well-educated and avoid being labeled as ”uncivilized”.It is said that how far any person can go intellectually in his or her life depends largely on how well they have been enlightened in their early days.
