Application of metal sulfides in energy conversion and storage
Sulfides refer to a category of compounds formed by strong electro-positivity metal or non-metal combine with sulfur.Ow-ing to its tunable stoichiometric composition,unique crystal struc-ture,abundant redox centers,the synergy between transition metal ions,and strong corrosion resistance in alkaline environments[1-4],metal sulfides receive increasing attention in different fields such as batteries,capacitors,adsorption,catalysis/photocatalysis,electrochemistry and medicine.Compared with conventional ma-terials,metal sulfides are a class of nanomaterials with high spe-cific capacity.Various metal sulfides and their nanoscale compos-ites exhibit significant enhancements in electrical conductivity,sur-face morphology,long-term durability and often metallic luster,and metal sulfides also exhibit unique physical and chemical sen-sitivity properties that can be effectively used in applications of energy storage and conversion applications[2,5-7].
