@@ @@With the development of radical biology, it is noted that the free radicals, especially the oxygen free radical, have positive relationship with many diseas es. The synthetic compound 2,6-di-tert-butyl-4-methylphenol (BHT), a strong antioxidant, has been put into use in food[1] and cosmetics[2] as additives. It has been reported recently that many compounds containing di-t ert-butyl phenol groups have various bioactivities, such as anti-inflammatory, anticancer activities and treatment of atherosclerosis.
