Dear Editor,The epidemiological studies have demonstrated that both short-term and long-term exposure to high levels of ambient particulate matter (PM) lead to increased risk of mortality and morbidity of respiratory and cardiovascular diseases ”1”.The effects of PM on respiratory epithelial cell function in the respiratory system are diverse and complex including toxicity by surface chemistry or inductions by soluble or bioavailable chemical compositions of particles.
