Language acquisition and learners’ cultural Identity:A qualitative study of students in Beijing Foreign Studies University
With massive internal migration from villages or little towns to big modern cities in China, students are facing significant changes of cultural identity, which may influence their language acquisition in the new environment. This paper aims to investigate the nature of these problems through a case study format and will elucidate some of the difficulties for language teaching and social peace for future in-depth studies.
