@@ The extent of changes in βm at both pH boundary values is considerable, particularly with non-stabilised films. When expressing effect of pH on swelling of variously stabilised films as a ratio of βm values (pH~6/pH~3), unstabilised films can be seen reaching values above 2.5, while films stabilised by dehydration and with GTA3.0 fluctuate around 1.4. The sensitivity of variously stabilised PECs to changes in pH is greater than with gelatine films, where βm ratios range between 1.5 and 0.75.
