TheG894TpolymorphismoftheeNOSgenesareassociatedwithcancer.However,resultsofdifferentstudiesareinconsistent.TodriveamorepreciseestimationofassociationbetweeneNOSG894Tpolymorphismandcancer,thismeta analysisisperformed.ElectronicsearchofPubMedisconductedtoselectstudies.Case controlstudiescontainingavailablegenotypefrequenciesofG894Tarechosen,andOddsratio(OR)with95%confidenceinterval(CI)isusedtoassessthestrengthofthisassociation.14case controlstudiesincluding4648casesand4653controlsareidentified.Thismeta analysisshowsthatthevariantgenotypesarenotclearlyassoci atedwiththecancerriskinallgeneticmodels(additivemodel:OR=1.041,95%CI0.97~1.119,P=0.266;dominantmodel:OR=1.022,95%CI0.933~1.12,P=0.636;recessivemodel:OR=1.152,95%CI0.978~1.357,P=0.09;co dominantmodel:GTvs.GGOR=0.996,95%CI0.905~1.095,P=0.93;TTVS.GGOR=1.179,95%CI0.991~1.403,P=0.063).Inconclusion,thismeta analysissug geststhateNOSG894Tpolymorphismisnotassociatedwithincreasedriskofcancer.
