Prevention of chronic HBV infection induced hepatocellular carcinoma development by using antiplatelet drugs
Hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) is a common malignancyaffecting approximately one million people worldwideannually. It is one of the most common causes of cancermorbidity and mortality in Asia and Africa. The successfulcontrol of HCC in children after HBV vaccinationfurther supports a role of chronic HBV infection in thedevelopment of HCC. Known risk factors for HCC includechronic viral infection, cirrhosis, extensive alcohol intake,non-alcoholic fatty liver disease, certain inherited metabolicconditions, environmental exposure, and transgeniconcogenes (1-4).
