Special issue on numerical simulation of multiphase and multiscale metallurgical processes
Steel production process is a multiphase and multiscale high-temperature metallurgical process involving complex physical behaviours and chemical reactions.The move-ment of high-temperature melts closely affects the clean-liness,homogenization,and refinement of high-quality steel.However,due to the high temperature,invisibility,and difficult quantification of metallurgical process,the data that can be measured in high-temperature melts during production process are limited.Also,the accuracy is dif-ficult to be guaranteed,and the cost is huge.In addition,cold model experiments are difficult to completely repro-duce the complex physicochemical reaction,solidification,phase transition,and other phenomena of the entire met-allurgical process.
