The COVID-19 pandemic has swePt across the globe since December2019, leaving human fatalities and disruption of economic and social life in its wake.Scientists, as a group, have been somewhat shielded from the worst consequences of the pandemic, especially in terms of personal safety and job stability.Nonetheless, swift and prolonged university iockdowns have contributed to unforeseen roadblocks, especially for experimentalists.Of those affected, early-career researchers, including PhD students and postdocs, perhaps bear the brunt of the blow, as crucial timetables in their career development are disrupted.
