资助基金：Acknowledgements Any summary of the hislory of the IUGS/IAGC Task Group on Global Geochemical Baselines would be incomplete without acknowledging the tremendous contribution of Dr. Arthur G. Darnley of the Geological Survey of Canada. Arthur was the founder and leader of IGCP Projects 259 and 360. He oversaw the establishment of the IUGS/IAGC Task Group on Global Geochemical Baselines in 1997 and served as its Honorary President until his death in 2006. His advice and council are sorely missed. Much of the information presented in this paper on the history of the project is taken from previous articles that Arthur wrote as cited in the text
